Locating your SSH credentials in managed WordPress and managed WooCommerce hosting

    May 21, 2020

Credentials for Secure Shell (SSH) and SFTP access via command line are available in Managed WordPress and Managed WooCommerce Hosting and are found within the home page of each individual site management page. This article will walk you through the steps to find your SSH login information.

    Note:

You must generate a new password in order to obtain the command path and SSH information. This will also change the password for your SFTP information. It is not advised to share passwords. Please generate a new password each time you need to log into SSH or SFTP to protect your site from compromise.

    SSH/SFTP Credentials

Step 1: Access cloud account dashboard

Log in to your Managed WordPress or WooCommerce Portal. From the home page, click Plans.

    Step 2: Select account

Either click its name, or select Plan Dashboard from the menu toggle.

Step 3: Generate and view credentials

ATTENTION: SSH and SFTP passwords are always synchronized. If you change one, you change the other.

    Select Menu > Access.

Step 3: Generate and view credentials

ATTENTION: SSH and SFTP passwords are always synchronized. If you change one, you change the other.

    1. Select Menu > Access.

    2. In the Secure Shell (SSH) section, click GENERATE PASSWORD, then click CONFIRM when prompted.

    3. Read and understand the warning, then click View Password.

ATTENTION: “Removed from our system” and “expires on” mean the password is no longer viewable, but this password remains functional until you generate another one.
    4. When your password appears, copy it to your clipboard by clicking it. After closing this window, you may continue to view this password until the above restrictions apply.
